Interviewing Dray Flowers & Motel Loïc about New Single Fly With Me

Dray Flowers Motel Loic interview new single fly with me

All Music Works‘ producers release a new single, the label’s first collaboration between artists

Interviewer: Hi, Dray and Motel! Thanks for being here. Your new singe, the collaboration Fly With Me, has an amazing vibe. Tell me, how did this song come about?

Dray Flowers: Thanks for the invite! The idea came about when I was in the studio working on a beat with an alternative R&B vibe, with that touch of soul that I always like to include. I wanted to make something sensual, but also fresh and danceable. That’s when I thought of Motel, because its synthpop style with touches of disco and funk fit perfectly with the direction I had in mind.

Motel Loïc: Yes, when Dray sent me the demo, I was immediately taken by the groove. I felt that it was the kind of song that invites you to move without thinking too much, to let yourself go. We started to build on that foundation and little by little we were shaping the story behind the lyrics.

I: Speaking of the story, your ew single Fly With Me is about asking a girl out for a night dancing at the club and just enjoying the moment. How did the lyrics come about?

DF: The inspiration came from those nights when everything feels light, when you just want to zone out and enjoy yourself without any worries. We wanted to capture that feeling of instant connection, when you see someone on the dance floor and without saying much, you both know you’re going to have a great night together.

ML: Exactly. We imagined a scene in a club with neon lights, where everything gets a little blurry, but in the best way. We wanted the lyrics to reflect that pressure-free energy, just the desire to dance and flow with the moment.

I: Your styles have marked differences, but in this song you feel a great synergy. How did you manage to balance Dray’s alternative R&B and soul with Motel’s synthpop, disco and funk?

ML: It was a fun challenge. I think the key was finding the common ground in our influences. I grew up listening to a lot of 80s funk and synthpop, which have that infectious groove. When I heard Dray’s production, I wanted to add elements that would enhance the vibe without losing the essence of either.

DF: And in my case, I’ve always liked to play with softer, more melodic textures, but also grooves that make the song feel alive. We let each contribute their own thing without forcing it. It was more of a musical conversation than a calculated fusion.

I: Were there any particular challenges during production?

DF: I think the hardest thing was finding the balance between ethereal and danceable. We didn’t want the song to be just an atmospheric piece, nor did we want it to sound like a pure club track. We spent a lot of time fine-tuning the production so it had both elements.

ML: Yes, and also the challenge of making the vocals feel natural and seductive, but without losing energy. We experimented quite a bit with harmonies and effects until we found the right tone for Fly With Me.

I: To wrap up, what’s next after Fly With Me? Can we expect more collaborations between you?

DF: Definitely! This experience was amazing and I think we’re just exploring what we can do together.

ML: Yes, we already have some ideas in the works, so fans can stay tuned. This is just the beginning!

I: Great! Thank you so much, Dray and Motel, for sharing this with us. We look forward to continuing to enjoy your music!

DF & ML: Thank you all!
